Letter from Head Teacher to Parents/Carers October 2017
SCHOOL STANDARDS AND QUALITY REPORT 2017
I am delighted to enclose a copy of the school’s annual report card, technically known as the “Standards and Quality Report”. I hope that you find this both interesting and informative. Perhaps once you have read it you will share them with family and friends.
My sincere thanks to parents and carers who have worked with us since returning in August in support of our young people and I look forward to seeing you in the near future at parents’ evenings. I am particularly encouraged by the ongoing support of parents and pupils for our full school uniform policy – please insist on maintaining the standard across the year.
There is one ongoing issue which continues to us real concern and that is punctuality at the start of the school day. Our school day begins at 8.40 am and all pupils should be in class at this time. It is vital that pupils understand the importance of punctuality for their working lives and good habits begin with arriving on time for school. Each instance of late coming is recorded on a pupil’s attendance record which forms the basis of a leaver’s reference. I would be grateful for your full support in ensuring that your son/daughter is on time each day and appropriate sanctions will be taken by the school for those you continue to arrive late.
