The topics listed are taught throughout all the Personal and Social Education courses S1-6.  The areas are introduced and information shared by staff.

The young people are encouraged in small groups and as a whole class to discuss and explore the subject matter.  Tasks are often set to raise awareness, challenge thoughts and opinions and develop skills.

A full debrief of each topic is important to allow pupils to come to their own conclusions and share them with each other.

We use a number of National Resources to explore these topics.  We also call upon our local partners to support our courses.  We currently work alongside Samaritians, Mike Sword Driving School, Police Scotland, Scottish Fire Service, Falkirk Council Community Safety Team and the Tartan Ribbon Fund.

Within these broad themes we teach and learn a variety of topics from alcohol misuse, skills in studying, bullying, personal safety tips, skills and qualities, learning styles and puberty.  Many of our lessons can often focus on discussion route of a class and often can lead to exploring many other aspects of life and social skills.
